We are looking to recruit an experienced PA, to work alongside the Leader’s senior PA, to support the delivery of a professional and responsive service which delivers all aspects of operational, administrative and financial support to the Leader of the Council.

This is a very high profile and busy office dealing with VIPs, MPs, Councillors, Members of the Public and Senior Officers.

You should have proven experience of working in a busy office environment and be highly organised with excellent IT and communication skills.

You should have the ability to:

  • use initiative to prioritise workloads and multitask
  • meet tight deadlines and demonstrate a keen eye for detail
  • communicate effectively at all levels
  • coordinate the activities of a very busy office
  • exercise a high level of discretion to work appropriately with confidential and sensitive information

Duties include, but are not limited to, diary and email management, arranging meetings, production of agendas, drafting correspondence, monitoring and progressing casework, processing orders and making travel arrangements.

You will need to be willing to work flexibly to ensure cover is provided to meet the needs of the office.

Previous experience of working in a similar role is desirable but not essential.

This role is primarily office based with some limited scope for home working.

The Leader’s Office is part of Legal Services and provides dedicated PA and casework support to the Leader of the Council .

As a blended worker, you may be able to work from home or remotely some of the time, or for certain tasks or limited days or hours. For the remainder of the time, you will be required to work at council sites or offices. This will depend on your role’s responsibilities and your personal circumstances.
