ESS Recruit s client is based in Livingston, they are a group of scientific instrument manufacturing businesses with production sites across six countries in Europe. Well established, they are a high technology equipment supplier into a range of sectors; including, medical devices, electronics, semiconductors and industrial manufacturing. Currently enjoying a period of high growth they need to make the key hire of a Assembly / Production Operator with an electro-mechanical and product alignment background.

The role involves the assembly, production and testing of products. This will include wiring and electrical assembly, electrical sub-assemblies, initial testing, and final testing of products.
Key responsibilities:

To manufacture, wire and assemble electronic components and sub-assemblies
Mechanical assembly and Hand soldering - conventional and surface mount.
To ensure that the specification and manufacturing standard of electronic wiring in the Company complies with required internal standards and safety regulations.
To ensure all re-work is captured and controlled correctly through the route card.
To liaise with the Inspection and Test areas of the Company and suggest remedies to minimise Non-Conforming Reports and product rework.
To provide cover for shipping and goods receiving. You should have relevant work experience in the manufacturing of electrical products and assembly and be able to recognise standard electronic components both conventional and surface mount. Experienced in point-to-point wiring of components/assemblies with the ability to recognise electronic components and wire in accordance with schematic diagrams would also be beneficial. Ideally you will also have practical experience in electrical production techniques, PCB assembly, soldering, wiring, crimping, etc and practical experience in wiring sub-assemblies and looms from wiring schedules and diagrams would be an advantage.
