Part time Teacher of Music - September
Duration: one term initially (possibility to be extended in to spring/ summer)
Academics have an exciting opportunity for a qualified, highly motivated and inspirational Music Teacher to join a successful, over-subscribed and forward-thinking school in Redditch on a part time basis. The position is 0.4 for the duration of the autumn term.
Music is taught to all students in Key Stages 3, 4 and 5 and it would be desirable that the successful specialist would teach across the age and ability range, however the school will accept a strong KS3 KS4 teacher. Performing Arts are a strength and highly valued part of school life, the appointed Music Teacher would be required contribute to the range of extra-curricular activities that they offer.
The schools success continues to be a team effort. Teachers work across faculties to share good practice and all staff have the common goal of making the school outstanding. Ofsteds last inspection judged the school to be good in all areas, commenting that "students' attitudes to learning are positive. Students appreciate how the school's expectations help them to achieve. Teaching is good. Students respond well to teachers' enthusiasm, high expectations and established routines. Strong relationships have a positive impact on learning". Since this inspection, they have continued to strive for excellence and embarked on an exciting teaching and learning journey, which is driven by a commitment to a high quality curriculum.
The successful Teacher of Music - September will:
Be passionate about pedagogy
Have drive, enthusiasm and be fully committed to innovative teaching methods which motivate and engage students of all musical abilities
Have high expectations of themselves, students and colleagues
Hold right to work in the UK and hold UK QTS or QTLS status
Possess an Enhanced DBS certificate that is registered on the Update Service or be willing to apply for a new certificate
The school supports the professional development of teachers at all stages in their careers, and the post is suitable for an ECT or someone with more experience.
