A local authority are looking for a Network Traffic Administrator to join their bust Transport and Highways Team
The authority has a range of powers that allow it to close roads to traffic for works on or adjacent to the highway. These can be planned temporary closures to cater for road maintenance or bridge repairs for the local authority, requests from utility companies or third parties, for essential work on or next to the highway. Emergency road closures are also possible when there is an immediate danger to the public, such as a serious gas leak. On many rural or narrow roads, it is not always possible to provide the necessary safe working zone for operatives whilst also providing a safe space for highway users. Statutory notices for works on or adjacent to the highway are published in local newspapers informing the public of the proposed closure and a circular letter is sent to various organisations such as Parish / District Council's , emergency services and bus companies.
