GPS are recruiting for an experienced Operations Manager for a family owned business based in Lancashire for over 35yrs.The successful candidate will be Working within a busy Glass Packaging Printing facility, you will be part of the senior management of the company and will be crucial in the continued progression of the business. You will be responsible for a small but extremely talented production team working over two shifts. With an a promising future the business is now at a crucial point to progress and we need a Operations Manager that can deliver this progression.
Key Responsibilities:
Planning and organising production schedules along with the management team
Responsibility for production chain supply and actively challenging supplier prices.
Ensuring quality standards are met and continually evaluated.
Overseeing production processes and overheads
Re-negotiating timescales or schedules as necessary
Organising the repair and routine maintenance of production and facility equipment; generators, ovens/kilns, printers, palletising eq, conveyors.
Hiring & organising your team and structure.
Responsible for Staff appraisals and staff training and development.
Responsible for facility H&S
Key/Desired skills:
Mechanical engineering qualification and apprenticeship trained would be an advantage
Previous experience In a similar role
Enthusiasm, motivation & self-driven individual
Strong leadership skills
Knowledge of continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment
Works well under pressure to achieve meeting deadlines
IT and numerical skills
Benefits: - Salary - Up to GBP45,000 dependent on experience in Engineering & Management- Monday to Friday - 40 hours but not exclusive. Production runs Tuesday to Thursday - Laptop, Mobile Phone, Uniform, PPE, Specialist Tools provided. - Pension scheme. Pension -Auto enrolled as per government specification- 25 days plus, + bank holidays. - Additional training. - Free parking
