I m currently recruiting for an experienced Transport Depot Manager to join a leading general haulage business.
They are seeking a Transport Depot Manager to support the current transport operation in the operational and people management of the depot.
The Candidate;
CPC - Transport Management Qualification
Previous Transport management experience within a general haulage operation with exposure to a FMCG client base is desirable
Transport management experience
Experience within a similar transport manager position
Must have a can do attitude
Presentable, polite and demonstrate excellent customer service skills
Strong customer service skills
Competent decision making
Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
Duties and Responsibilities;
Supervision of approx 20 Tractor Units and 20 Drivers
Providing drivers with work schedules
Procedural accuracy, training and full compliance of all transport operations.
Liaising with sub-contractors.
All aspects of people management for the Depot driver team.
Provide oversight and direction for all day to day operations.
Manage manpower levels, recruitment, holidays and sign off on hours for payroll
Responsible for the end to end movement, safe and secure storage of all stock / goods / vehicles & equipment.
Effectively communicate and work with external transport teams
Ensure customer requirements are met in full and on time.
Complete all required reports and paper work.
Implement and adhere to all Company policies in relation to health and safety requirements for the depot area, including equipment upkeep and maintenance.
Ensure the depot is well maintained and secure at all times, reporting any damage or incidents immediately.
