Housekeeping Assistant - Nantwich - Country-house venue
We are looking for an experienced and passionate Assistant Housekeeper to join a close-knit team at a country house and events business near Nantwich.
They host weddings and events throughout the year, mostly on Fridays and Saturdays, and outside the event season the cottage accommodation is used for holiday lets.
The housekeeping department are an important part of the organisation, with tight turnarounds on most Saturdays requiring the ability to adapt and work speedily with strong attention to detail.
Duties include:
Reporting to the House Manager and following instructions
Cleaning: be adept in the art of housekeeping and follow checklists
Laundry: all the laundry is done in-house using industrial Miele machines
Turning the bedrooms and Cottages around after guests have stayed
Checking inventories, reporting damages and great attention to detail
You will ideally be able to cook and assist with breakfast (training provided)
Events: Tidying repeatedly throughout the day
Occasionally you may be asked to work a later shift to assist with dinners
Assist with stock level checks of consumables
Keeping storage areas organised and orderly
Maintain equipment & report any issues
You will need :
Minimum two years experience housekeeping experience in a high standard establishment (essential)
Be able (or be willing to learn how) to cook breakfast for up to 22 guests
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Have a "can do" attitude
Ability to work under pressure
Ability to multi-task and take on a number of duties
Be able to work quickly without compromising quality
Knowledge of the English language
Driving license or other ability to get to work
OTHER DETAILS:
The estate is situated outside Nantwich and a 15-minute drive from Crewe Train Station
Day shift including Weekdays, Saturdays and some Sundays: working days and hours to be confirmed in advance via a monthly rota
Days and hours are subject to change dependant on events
14 days holiday (including bank holidays)
You will be required to work on most event days. Weddings tend to take place twice a week, on a Friday and Saturday.
You will be expected to perform a range of duties within both business and family environments and no two days will be the same.
