The Client
Our client is a world leader in providing specialist field joint coating services to the onshore and offshore services for all major pipeline construction contractors (Oil & Gas) who have earned a reputation for quality, performance, reliability in the services of the company.
The Role
Raise the companies Research and Development profile within the industry through supporting engineering functions associated with the development and subsequent manufacture of specialist machinery produced at our clients premises.
The Responsibilities
The below is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the organisation and the overall business objectives of the organisation.
Design, development, programming, and testing of control systems (primarily Siemens S7 and Portal)
Ownership of the company s software registers ensuring correct revisions are stored centrally and correctly documented
Implementation of autonomous solutions to legacy equipment
Integration of Industry 4.0 solutions to new and existing machines
Integration of control systems within client site
Working alongside Systems & Controls and Mechanical Engineers on control system design including panel and equipment wiring design.
Design, specification, and procurement of materials/parts
Maintain upkeep of budgets and schedules for equipment development
Production of documentation for the correct use of machinery and processes
Support to workshop and site-based Engineers
Produce documentation for the correct use of machinery and processes
Provision of support to the field operators
Support to the workshop Engineers
Skills & Knowledge
Engineering based Degree or equivalent (HNC, HND), 2:2 or above
Work Experience
Minimum 5 years experience in a relevant role or time served apprenticeship
Siemens PLC software experience
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Project
Skills & Knowledge
Solid Engineering knowledge base
An understanding of mechanical, pneumatic, & hydraulic systems and how they interact with electrical systems
Conversant with IEC (phone number removed)
Good timekeeping skills; ability to work to tight deadlines and manage own and others time efficiently
