We are looking for somebody who is passionate about supporting people with a learning disability.
We have a new exciting opportunity to support an 80+ year old gentleman in his own home in South Tyneside with 1:1 support. This gentleman requires support with communication, being out and about in the community, with all health needs, attending appointments, preparing meals, personal care and all aspects of daily living such as domestic tasks, medication administration and finances.
The gentleman has dementia and also requires support in managing his behaviours. At times, he can get confused so requires staff to be calm, patient and understanding. Staff have support plans and risk assessments to follow so that he gets the support he needs enabling us to manage these effectively.
This man has his own vehicle which staff would be required to drive. He enjoys going out every day for a drive whether this be along the sea front or a day trip out. With patience, compassion, and lots of motivation you will find this role very rewarding. Shifts are on a rota basis and include weekends, Bank Holidays and waking nights.
