The role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Site Engineer to join our VolkerStevin team working on Civil engineering schemes at 9 Dock. The Site Engineer will establish the level and survey control for contracts and set out detailed works as per the contract drawings, ensuring that checks are made on a regular basis.
Key accountabilities
Day to day work site coordination and planning to ensure the works are carried out safely and efficiently
Working with subcontractors to ensure the timely preparation risk assessment method statements, inspection and test plans, permits etc for the works and that these are implemented.
Liaison with the Site Foreman to ensure the adherence to safe methods of work.
Ensuring all temporary works needs are identified sufficiently early and completed in accordance with the relevant procedures.
Ensuring all quality checks are carried out in accordance with the ITP's and properly recorded.
The management of non-conformance reporting and managing the non-conformances on site until complete.Skills & experience
Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering, or equivalent
Excellent communication, people, and team management skills
Ability to challenge designs and resolve problems to conclusion
Ability to demonstrate the right behaviours and lead the team to ensure the culture is in line with our company values
Previous experience of setting out on civil engineering projects
Sound knowledge of construction methods, health and safety, and legal regulationsOther
