Job Title: Bar Team Member

Location: Canterbury, Kent

Salary: GBP18,278

Hours: Working 5 out of 7 (will include weekends) between the hours of 11am-11pm

To work as part of the bar team providing food and drinks and event services to students, staff, and visitors. Providing impeccable customer service to our customers and adhering to policies and best practices. You will be the first point of contact for students and will ensure the smooth running of the facility and events that take place at the venue. This role is a great opportunity to develop the skills knowledge and expertise to work in the hospitality industry. The post holder will need to have a flexible approach and be to meet the expectations of providing a consistent and quality service to students, staff, and external visitors.

Key responsibilities within your new role would be to:

To assist and provide a consistent, professional service and quality food and beverage standards for students, staff, and external clients on a day-to-day basis.

To follow all policies, procedures, and practices in relation to licenced activity such as Challenge 25, weights and measures act and all other licencing laws regulations and standards.

To be first point of contact to all customers providing a positive atmosphere and workplace culture and identifying opportunities to support our customers with other products, services, events, and activities that take place at the venue.

To support with events management for events at the venue. To take a proactive role in supporting events and ideas for future events at the venue.

To ensure all open and close down procedures are completed. Ensure all daily and weekly task allocations are delivered and assist with any other duties as instructed by the duty supervisor.

To re-stock fridges, display units and counters as directed by the duty Supervisor ensuring stock rotation (FIFO).

To be able to operate the point-of-sale system for cash and cards and be responsible for the cash takings during the shift.

To support in the continuous improvement of the business and provide ideas on how to improve student experience.

Experience and skills required for this position:

Ideally you will have a qualification in hospitality but not essential.
Have an understanding of computers and point of sale (POS) systems.
Must have experience of working in a customer service / customer facing role previously.
The ability to work as part of a team.
Be flexible with working hours as this role includes weekend working. Next steps:
