Office Angels Livingston are collaborating with a fast paced and successful wholesaler for a Permanent Quality and Planning Assistant Manager. The role is perfect for someone who has proven experience in a similar role in working within the Produce team, the successful candidate will effectively and efficiently plan and manage stock levels/quality of all stock allocated from arrival at the depot to dispatch to the customer. They must also ensure that the quality of the product in each and communicated to all relevant parties within the depot.

Based in West Lothian, salary up to GBP27,000 per annum depending on experience. The core hours are Monday - Friday, 40 hours a week and shifts are between the times of 4.30am - 3.30pm with the occasional weekend work to cover holiday.

Role Overview

You will work alongside the Depot Manager whom you will provide support to as well as help to plan workload for the candidate will need to be able to plan, think on their feet and be able to lift heavy boxes (up to 22kg at times). When checking product some work is at height and the candidate will be required to climb a ladder. Training can take up to 12 months to complete in full. Experience with Excel and/or SAP would be a bonus.

Experience of working within an Operations/Production/Stock Control environment would be beneficial, ideally within a supervisory role. Relevant experience of working within a fast-paced environment in a similar role and a good working knowledge of Health and Safety procedures is essential.

Reporting daily to the Manager, the successful candidate would also have a direct responsibility to the Assistant Operations Manager if any issues cannot be resolved at operational level.

Duties include:

Planning and intake of product in line with allocation and port transport availability and the intake team.
Checking product specifications according to customer specifications.
Make decisions on the most effective and efficient use of the product.
Maintaining adequate stock levels to ensure optimum quality of product levels are achieved and are as efficient as possible.
Allocation of product depending on sales requirements.
Liaising with hauliers to ensure timely deliveries of fruit.
Carrying out all intake checks, checking in storage.
May be required to support intake team scanning product intakes.
At times the position requires some confidentiality, and it is important that this is adhered to.
To ensure working area is kept tidy to comply with Health & Safety.
