Driving Examiner (Full time or Part time)

Driving Examiner (Full time or Part time) McGill s Bus Service Ltd are Scotland s largest privately owned Bus Company. Due to continued expansion, we are looking for an experienced PCV Driving Examiner to join our team. This role is flexible and can be on a full time or part time basis whichever suits the needs of the successful candidate. Reporting to the General Manager, you will work as part of a small team at our Training Academy. As a Driving Examiner you will be responsible for supervising and assessing new trainees driving ability on the road - when they are deemed suitable and ready to sit their PCV Driving test (D Category). Person Specification and qualifications You must be in possession of a clean, valid Driving licence which includes a Bus Licence ("D" category) and current CPC card. You must be appropriately qualified as per DVSA delegated driving examiner s qualification. Excellent people skills and an ability to deliver a high-quality service, whilst acting in a calm and measured manner with the capability to make objective and at times difficult decisions. Effective communicator with strong written and verbal skills. Must be IT literate and proficient in MS office packages. Main Responsibilities: As a PCV Driving Examiner you will conduct PCV driving tests and ensure that that the level of driving displayed by new trainees follows DVSA driving standards. You will test new trainees to ensure they demonstrate knowledge of the Highway code, vehicle and road safety and vehicle operations. Ensure that test pass certificates and all DVSA paperwork is completed and recorded to the required standards. You will assist and provide ongoing support and guidance to the Training Academy Management Team in relation to PCV and driving instruction standards and mentor and coach existing colleagues, as and when necessary.
