We are working with a highly reputable family run SME based in Colchester, to recruit an experienced, passionate, and energetic IT Support Engineer. As IT Support Engineer you will support the IT Manager to act as an internal contact for any IT issues. Ensuring that downtime is minimised, and maximum efficiency is maintained for all staff. Maintain existing IT equipment and identify need for changes where necessary.

- Logging and managing end-user issues, ensuring they are fixed in a timely manner, giving clear deadlines, and setting/meeting expectations throughout the lifecycle of each task

- Setting up New Users (account creation, configuring hardware/software applications, etc)

- General SQL Queries/Report Writing

- Power BI Reporting (to show clear/concise Key Performance Indicators on business metrics

- Dealing with 3rd Party MSP s (where appropriate) and ensuring they meet required deadlines

- General Network Infrastructure maintenance tasks

- Ensuring clear documentation is created & published on the Company s Intranet (a "self-help" portal).

- Ensure the security of data and back up Company systems daily.

- Identify issues or problematic areas and implement solutions in a timely manner.

- Evaluate possible software and hardware upgrades against business need and value for money.

- Assist all employees, Managers and Directors with IT queries.

- Create email accounts for new starters and redirect emails for leavers as necessary.

- Provide accurate reports on IT matters such as network speeds, security, email use, w website visits etc. as and when requested by Senior Management / Directors.

- Monitor visits to and usage of the Company s website and make suggestions to improve visitor numbers and results.

- Plan updates, reboots and backups effectively to ensure minimal negative impact to the business.

- Manage and evaluate the Company s IT suppliers, e.g., internet providers, assessing the value for money and the quality of service / products.

- Monitor and identify any improper usage of Company computer systems / network or inappropriate content accessed by employees and escalate with the relevant Manager(s).

- Continuously protect the Company s IT systems and network against viruses and hackers.

Requirements:

- SQL Server skills (including report development)

- Practical/working knowledge of Inner/Full joins.

- Understanding of Power BI report development, Including basic "Dax" language

- Office 365 Skills (ideally including basic PowerApps, Power Automate/Flow

- MS SharePoint

- ERP/CRM Systems

- Good Windows Server 2016+ knowledge (including AD/Group Policy)

- Adept at basic PowerShell Scripting

- Good understanding of Web Domain s, SSL Certificates & General eCommerce

- Good knowledge of Printer Setup/Configuration (ideally Ricoh printers)

- Working with 3rd party vendors/MSP s

- Clear understanding of IT Logging/Ticketing Systems

- Good understanding of network Infrastructure
