Are you a highly motivated and enthusiastic Vehicle Technician able to carry out maintenance and repairs across a range of vehicles and equipment?

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as part of an evolving team, maintaining and repairing vehicles critical to ensuring our front line crews are ready and able to treat our patients when they most need us. We are seeking to grow and further develop our services and are therefore looking for individuals to work across our sites within the South West providing a 7 day fleet & equipment maintenance service keeping our vehicles in an excellent condition and on the road.

The role of the Vehicle Technician for South Western Ambulance Service provides an opportunity to work as part of a friendly, professional team working in a workshop-based environment ensuring that vehicle and equipment maintenance is carried out to very high standards. It also provides opportunities to develop your career with us either within the Fleet and Equipment team or within the wider Trust in both patient-facing and a variety of support roles.

The successful candidate must have served a recognised Motor Vehicle Indentured apprenticeship or completed an equivalent training scheme and obtained City and Guilds Motor Vehicle Craft studies parts 1, 2 & 3 or Full Motor Vehicle Technicians qualification or BTEC/NVQ equivalents. We will provide additional specific vehicle and equipment on-going training as required.

The role requires post holders to have a full driving licence including the C1 category.

Full time (37.5) hours and part time (18.5 hours) are available working a variety of shifts across a 7-day period.

Salary is up to £31,534 plus shift premium and overtime.

Working for us provides a number of benefits including access to the NHS pension scheme, up to 33 days paid holiday per year (plus bank holidays), options to work flexibly within a rota pattern, as well as opportunities to develop your career with us along with generous benefits such as sickness pay, maternity and paternity leave and access to NHS employee discounts.

We are looking to recruit vehicle technicians in our Dorset workshop and from time to time you may be asked to cover in an alternative workshop if the need requires.
