SCOPE OF JOB
The post holder will be accountable for the delivery of a suitable test programme (Strategy, Plans, and Schedules) which provides the required assurance that the system solution will perform within the requirements and design envelope.
The post holder is expected to operate with a planning horizon of between 6 and 24 months, to support the required level of assurance.
The post holder is expected to be responsible for verification and validation activities required for deployment of systems to operational and development units.
The post holder must be highly motivated and able to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing, capable of understanding and reviewing reports written by others and writing documents forming part of the formal documentation of a change. Must have good interpersonal communication and management skills.
The ability to lead, coach, motivate and develop members of the team to maximise their contribution to the needs of projects in coordination with People Leads.
Conducting internal and external to NATS test review meetings as required.
EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
The job holder is expected to hold, as a minimum, qualification to HNC level in an Engineering related discipline (or an equivalent/higher qualification, preferably a Degree) and have relevant engineering experience
Expert experience of one or more major, or family of, NATS systems and system/test engineering disciplines, broad knowledge of other NATS and external systems, with a good overall appreciation of NATS systems as a whole.
Current working knowledge of technology, products and services, and with ATM systems initiatives and concepts.
Good background knowledge of the following system domains, Radar Data Processing, Flight Data Processing, Support Information Systems Processing.
Test assurance within real time safety critical systems.
Software lifecycles and other established software engineering practices.
Principles of testing and demonstrated skill in judging the appropriate level of testing.
Production of test documentation to a high standard within agreed project timescales.
