OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

As a HR and Admin Officer you will be a key member of our Core Team working alongside fundraising and finance team members. The Core Team provides essential services to our front line delivery teams and is a valued part of the Rising Sun.

You will be involved in a range of tasks that contribute to the smooth running of the organisation, for example advertising jobs, maintaining our HR database, processing referrals and coordinating attendees for our therapeutic groups. We are looking for an organised, flexible and proactive individual who is a team player, confident at following processes and has excellent IT skills.

As part of our passionate and committed team of approximately 40 staff, our aspiration is that you will thrive and develop in this varied role. You will be contributing to the invaluable work of the Rising Sun and making a lasting difference to the lives of those who are impacted by domestic abuse.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

HR Tasks

Undertake recruitment administration, for example advertising posts, acknowledging applications and co-ordinating interviews.
Carry out safeguarding checks (references and DBS) for new employees and carry out DBS check renewals for existing staff as and when required.
Draft employment contracts and any other HR related correspondence.
Co-ordinate laptops and mobile phones for new members of staff.
Conduct induction meetings for new members of staff.
Maintain staff records on our HR database (BreatheHR) and electronic personnel files. This includes inputting starters and leavers, contractual amendments, annual leave and recording of sicknesses and other leave.
Main point of contact for staff for any HR and IT related queries.
Provide cover for monthly payroll when the Finance and HR Manager is unavailable.

Admin Tasks

Process incoming referrals to our services and liaise with referrers as required.
Contact clients on waiting lists to book them onto our therapeutic groups.
Participate in the office phone line rota and respond to general enquiries via email.
Take minutes at the Canterbury DA Forum and other meetings as and when required.
Assist with procurement including the ordering of office supplies.
Maintain a complete list of all the Rising Sun s laptops and be the main point of contact with our external IT support team.
