This post will be based at the priory workshop, but the contract is offered on a hybrid and flexible working pattern. Reporting to the workshop Supervisor, you will organise and ensure an effective response to any breakdowns and emergencies. You will be required to ensure that plant and equipment is available as required and that they are fit for purpose. You will be required to have all-round knowledge of horticultural and fine turf machinery and be responsible for their servicing and repairs. As a Senior Workshop Technician, you will ensure that all work is undertaken in accordance with appropriate health and safety and procedures. To request a copy of the full job description, please contact Uzo Nebechi on .What you'll need to succeedTo be successful in this role, you must have minimum of 5 years' experience in a workshop / mechanics environment / similar role. It is vital that you have a full and clean driving license as this role requires you to be mobile. Your application will not be considered if you do not any workshop qualification. To be successful in this role, it is also essential that you have the following essential skills / experiences:

  • Previous technical experience and knowledge of horticultural machinery and fine turf machinery is essential
  • Repair and maintain equipment associated with Horticultural and Agricultural machinery
  • Diagnose faults and successfully carry out repairs and servicing work.
  • Good knowledge of Horticultural / Agricultural machinery and how it functions
  • Ability to diagnose hydraulic and electrical faults
  • Can work alone using own initiative and as part of a team
  • Able to work under pressure and to seasonal / service demands
  • Onsite using a company van and workshop-based jobs giving variation day to day
  • Attending breakdowns all over the City of Southend.
  • Excellent communication skills, Ability to communicate effectively to all levels
  • Competent in the use of computers
  • Full driver's licence
  • Liaise with staff / colleagues and suppliers as required
  • Attend training courses as required by the to maintain satisfactory levels of compliance and understanding
  • A team player-capable of working alone or with other team members
  • Be self-motivated
  • Able to deliver a professional service under time restraints.
  • Ability to adapt working practices to meet job requirements
