Design Manager - ARV5545

A growing business is looking for a Design Manager based in Leeds. Along with a salary of up to GBP60,000 per annum, you will also receive 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, life insurance, plus many others. Reporting the head of design you will liaise with various stakeholders including directorship and on site delivery teams in order to provide a turnkey design service during the pre and post contract of a wide variety of construction projects. These projects could be within the education, health and care, institutional residential and commercial sectors, delivered using the latest offsite, modern methods of construction. You will manage the inputs and outputs of technical drawing packages, planning applications and technical resources; chairing design team meetings , liaising with internal and external clients, end users and design consultants to ensure the process runs as smoothly as possible. It is essential that you ensure full compliance with all relevant codes and standards including Building Regulations, Building Bulletins, Health Technical Memorandums and other associated publications. As a Design Manager, your responsibilities will include:

• Working as part of a team to provide full design package for new offsite, volumetric products
• Providing a turnkey design service during product inception, development, tender, pre-construction and post-planning phases of the new product design phases
• Managing inputs and outputs of technical drawings, planning applications and technical resources
• Chairing design meetings, liaise with internal and external clients, ensuring the process runs smoothly
• Ensuring full compliance with all relevant codes and standards including building regs

We are looking for a Design Manager who has the following skills and experiences:

• Demonstrable experience in design management of construction projects GBP3million+.
• Experience of design and build contracts with specific knowledge of education, healthcare, residential and commercial buildings.
• Working knowledge of CDM Regulations.
• Expert knowledge of Building Regulations, Building Bulletins and Health Technical Memorandums.
• Working knowledge of working with BREEAM
• Knowledge of design and design interrogation software such as Navisworks and Revit for example.
• Experience within Offsite and Modern Methods of Construction an advantage but training will be provided.
• Clear evidence to suggest that the applicant has sufficient knowledge of producing/reviewing: Information Release Schedules, Design Responsibility Matrices, Design Programmes and methods of how design is tracked/managed throughout the design process.
