THE POSITION:

Prospero Teaching are currently recruiting for an SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEND school setting in the Bridgwater area, on a long-term basis.

Our client is a specialist educational provision for young people with complex social, emotional and mental health needs. They are in need of an experienced Teaching Assistant to join them from September 2022. With the complex needs of the students, we are looking for individuals who are capable and enthusiastic to work in a challenging but highly rewarding environment.

We are particularly looking for individuals who have strong behaviour management skills and the ability to quickly establish and maintain positive relationships with pupils, effectively reengaging them with their learning. As an SEN TA at the school, you will be required to work with students on a 1:1, small group and general basis and be on hand to provide support to the class teacher where needed. Some lesson delivery may also be required at times for strong candidates.

As a TA at the school, you will promote positive behaviour in line with school policies at all times and support the pupil according to individual needs. The successful candidate will be working with students with behavioural difficulties and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, so prior experience within this field is essential.

VACANCY DETAILS:

  • Location: Bridgwater
  • Position: Teaching Assistant - SEN
  • Contract: temporary
  • Hours: full-time, 8.30am - 3.30pm
  • Start Date: 5th September 2022
  • Pay Rate: GBP75-GBP85 per day

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (ideally in an SEN setting)
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the capability to engage with students
  • Resilient, charismatic and compassionate
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year - Prospero can provide this

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional references
