About the Opportunity
We re looking to appoint an experienced NEBOSH qualified Health & Safety Assistant, to be responsible for assisting the Health & Safety Manager in providing day to day health, safety and wellbeing across multiple sites and assist with the development, implementation and communication of all relevant H&S policies.
Working in a busy and exciting retail organisation. You ll implement the health, safety and wellbeing policies and procedures ensuring legal compliance with all relevant legislation. You will act as a point of contact and provide operational advice and support to the Health & Safety Manager and internal stakeholders, as well as undertake audits and inspections identifying areas for improvement and report on the findings. You ll also assist the business on accident / Incident & Claims management and ensure that accident investigations are completed, and action plans are implemented to prevent reoccurrence.
Support the Health and Safety Manager
Accident Management by collating, filing reports and accurately investigating accidents
Risk Management by assisting in the compiling of Risk Assessments and review annually.
Supporting insurers in the collation of claims information
Identifying and ordering personal protective equipment (PPE)
Providing administration support for Board reports and mandatory HSE training
What are we looking for?
This is a great opportunity for an individual, keen to join a business going through significant transformation. The ideal candidate will have:
NEBOSH General Certificate (Essential)
Min of 2yrs H&S experience (essential) within a warehouse (Desirable)
Full Driving Licence with the ability to travel between our sites within the NW
NVQ Level 2 Business and Administration (Desirable)
NEBOSH HSE Introduction to Incident Investigation (Desirable)
IOSH (Desirable)
NEBOSH Fire Safety (Desirable)
Excellent attention to detail
Self-motivated
Good communication skills
Excellent IT skils
Analytical and methodical in approach
Demonstrates resilience, tenacity, persistence and diplomacy
Excellent team worker and collaborates with others
Experienced in record keeping
Has a proven track record in consolidation information into meaningful reports
