Are you a UAT Tester who is looking to be part of a small enthusiastic and passionate team?
Initially based onsite during the initial training then the role will move to Hybrid which is required to be flexible during testing projects.
To be part of and to support the testing function, by contributing to the overall quality assurance and success of project delivery and the ongoing maintenance of existing systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Working to ensure effective service transition into the operation of new applications or changes to existing applications.
Perform comprehensive testing of software developed in-house and by external suppliers.
Working with a range of internal and external stakeholders to identify defects raised and escalate concerns.
Produce test cases and test scripts.
Assist in the production of test documentation.
Supporting end users in preparing for and performing User Acceptance Testing.
Supporting the business in creating their own test scripts.
To act as a system expert.
To support the handover of systems from project delivery to business as usual.
Effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
Keep up to date with all relevant industry and technological developments in the marketplace.
Any such other duties temporarily or on a continuing basis, as may be reasonably required.
Comply with GDPR requirements in all working practices.
Required Abilities, Knowledge & Attributes:
Essential
Previous experience in a testing or similar computer role or demonstrable knowledge of testing and desire to work as a Tester.
Experience implementing testing, acting as a system expert, not necessarily within IT but preferably in a customer facing role.
Experience of producing a range of testing related documents such as test plans, test summary reports, issue logs and test scripts.
Ability to spot patterns, trends and areas requiring further investigation.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to communicate complex technical ideas to a non-technical audience.
Positive attitude, proactive, adaptable and team player.
Ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure, independently on own initiative.
Desirable
ISTQB/ISEB Certificate in Software Testing
Familiarisation with student administration systems - Tribal SITS in particular
Worked in a professional or voluntary capacity beta testing any commercial applications
Understanding customer requirements analysis
Knowledge of SQL for extracting test data from databases
Broad current knowledge of IT standards, applications, and trends
Working knowledge of agile development methodologies, particularly Scrum
Working knowledge in the use of Jira or other bug tracking/project management tools
Working knowledge of any modern programming languages or willingness to learn
Salary: GBP27k-GBP32.5k
Location: Local to either Cambridge or Chelmsford, or willingness to locate
Hours: Monday - Friday 37 hours
