CNC Machinist Turner

CNC Machinist (Turner) required for my client who provide cutting edge technology to the energy industry, based in Warrington.

The clients patented solutions are the market leading products in their field and they produce a seal which quite simply, lasts forever.

They are looking for an experienced CNC Machinist (Turner) to join their growing production team. The successful CNC Machinist will set, program and operate turning machines.

CNC Machinist (Turner) Position Overview

• Produce precision parts on our CNC Turning Machines
• Interpret engineering drawings and job specifications to setup a wide range of turning operations on both repeat and new components.
• Setting up the CNC machine by, taking the product from billet to finished goods.
• Clean and maintain machining centers including disposal of waste material.
• Champion continuous improvement and provide feedback to internal departments on the machining process.
• Process jobs as scheduled on the internal Work Order database as well as entering operational data regarding turning and job progression.
• Action machining Quality Issues and reduce CoPQ (Cost of Poor Quality).
• Support product and process optimisation in line with the quality needs of the business.
• Maintain high levels of Health & Safety standards.

CNC Machinist (Turner) Position Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 / City&Guilds in Mechanical Engineering.
• Preferably HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering
• 3+ years of CNC Machining experience.
• CNC Programming experience - Programming directly into machine.
• Have experience with HAAS / Fanuc controls (e.g. HAAS ST30).
• Proven background in machining high specification, precision engineered parts.
• Identify and utilise best practice methods for work holding, tight tolerance machining and tooling.
• Fully experienced with machining of both standard and more exotic raw materials.
• Able to work to tight time lines and multi-task in a busy manufacturing environment.
• Fully competent with all types of inspection equipment, to verify component quality.
• Experience in operating in a 5S environment.
• Able to work to high safety and quality standard, with a variety of equipment and materials.
• Preferably; process improvement, Siemens control and manual machine experience.
• Based within a commutable distance of Warrington.
• Full UK driving licence.

CNC Machinist (Turner) Position Remuneration

• Salary - GBP14phr to GBP18phr - dependent upon experience, skills and qualifications.
• Full time permanent position - Monday to Thursday - 6am to 4:30pm.
• 20 days annual leave + bank holidays.
