At Randstad Education we are recruiting for a school estates manager on behalf of a secondary school in the Wavertree area.

Responsibilities & Role Purpose

Under the guidance of the Assistant Director of Resources, the Estates Manager isresponsible for the management and development of facilities and services that supportthe core business of school to ensure that the most suitable workingenvironment exists for all students, staff and visitors.

The post holder will support the Assistant Director of Resources in planning by focusing onusing best practice to improve efficiency, reducing operational costs while increasingproductivity.

Areas of responsibility will include:- estates related procurement and contract management;- building and grounds maintenance;- cleaning; - litter, bins and toilets; assistance with deep cleaning of classroom and school pool/changing rooms.- liaising with the schools Health and Safety Co-ordinator to ensure high standards of estate related health and safety;- security; Locking or unlocking of the school as required- monitoring usage and seeking ways to reduce energy costs

- Support the school policies and procedures, for example relating to child safeguarding and data protection, and contributing to the school ethos as a whole

Requirements

As the successful candidate you will have:

- Previous experience of working in a similarly responsible site role, preferably within a school

- Ability to relate well to children and adults alike

- Knowledge of COSHH regulations and safe storage of materials

- Health & Safety knowledge, and willingness to adhere to the Code of Safe Working Practice (COSWP) for Caretaking and Premises Staff

- A background in plumbing, woodwork or general 'handy-work' or DIY would be advantageous

- The willingness to learn and train on the job

- A strong work ethic, the ability to work as part of a team, and a professional and proactive attitude
