Finance and Business Support Officer

Salary: GBP21,000 pro rata

Location: Nottingham or remote.

Type: 12 months, with possibility of extension.

Hours: 17.5 hours per week. Working pattern to be agreed with successful candidate.

The National Biodiversity Network Trust (NBN Trust) is looking for a Finance and Business Support Officer to help us in our mission to make data work for nature .

Working as part of a small team, this is a key role reporting to the Finance and Business Manager.

The right candidate will need, or be willing to develop, an in-depth knowledge of bookkeeping and financial processes and systems. The role will also include HR and IT management and support.

This role can be located at our office in Nottingham City Centre, or fully remote (working from home), or a hybrid arrangement. Options can be discussed in more detail prior to application if required. With colleagues based remotely, you will need to be comfortable working in a dispersed team.

Key Responsibilities

Provide support to the Finance and Business Manager.
Assist in the preparation of financial, budget and cash flow reporting by recording transactions in the accounting software. Assist with monitoring of, and responding to, enquiries.
Raise invoices and payments, within limits of delegated authority, and ensure timely payment of bills.
Assist in HR tasks, ranging from annual leave and sickness monitoring to making salary payments.
Provide IT and HR support to the NBN Trust team as required.
Assist the Finance and Business Manager with the Trust s Digital Transformation work.
The role is initially part-time, but there may be the opportunity to increase the hours to full-time in due course. Similarly, this is a 12-month position, but there may be opportunities for the position to be extended or become permanent.
