A Management Accountant is required by our client a large and respected FMCG company based in Kent. The job purpose will be to lead the development, deployment, and delivery of effective and efficient period-end reporting across all the Group companies and ensure adequate transactional processing in Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger and cash management through rigorous adherence to Financial controls to mitigate risks. The Key Accountabilities will be:
For the Group:
Ensure that financial transactions are recorded accurately, on time and in full to meet the requirements of all internal stakeholders by expected deadlines.
Responsible for the reconciliation of intercompany balances, liaising with other finance teams in the group to ensure both entities have recorded the same balance in their financial records.
Complete the monthly intragroup recharges and intercompany reconciliation.
Accountable for review of period end balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring that supporting documentation provides full financial transparency.
Produce monthly management accounts including commentary on material variances against budget.
Review monthly group VAT return for completeness and ensure reporting process is HMRC MTD compliant.
Submit audit deliverables in a timely manner and liaise with external auditors to provide information and explanations as required to facilitate the production of an unqualified audit report.
Assist with the production of the group and subsidiary statutory accounts.
Assist the Group s tax advisers in producing corporation tax returns for central entities including ESOP and SIP trust.
Produce business plan, budget, and reforecast for the scoped entities.
Responsible for managing and preparing the weekly 13 weeks cash flow for the scoped entities.
Ensure that finance procedures are properly documented and reviewed on a regular basis.
Assist with management of credit insurance for the group.
Other ad-hoc tasks as and when required.
For assistance with the relevant group of companies:
Purchase ledger invoice processing
Pulling/authorisation of payment runs
Raising sales ledger invoices
Review the Central accounting team s systems and processes to ensure they remain efficient and effective.
Skills, know-how and experience:
Must have:
Good understanding of UK GAAP and Companies Act.
Strong numeracy skills with high level of attention to detail.
Intermediate to advanced excel skills with desire to improve.
Broad understanding of taxation law especially corporation tax and VAT.
Good communication skills. Team spirit as well as generate individual work of a high standard.
Ability to work under pressure to statutory and other work deadlines.
Ability to work within a creative and learning environment.
Desirable
Experience of working with management accounting packages (Xero, Sage).
Experience with CaseWare or similar statutory accounts production software.
Experience working with group recharges and consolidation.
Technical / Professional Qualifications: Qualified ACA/CIMA/ACCA
