An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Administrative Assistant to join our Marketing and Student Recruitment based in Edinburgh. This team manages all activity relating to the promotion of SRUC education provision, recruitment of students and market research.

The purpose of this post is to provide enquiries, publications and administrative support to the Marketing and Student Recruitment team, thereby supporting SRUC s vision to be the leading national provider of further and higher education programmes as a 21st century rural enterprise university. This role will assist with key areas of Marketing and Student Recruitment activity.

You will be responsible for:

  • managing the student enquiries function of SRUC - dealing with incoming student recruitment enquiries on multiple channels, including phone and email
  • managing the distribution of stock and resources both internally (across SRUC s multiple sites and locations) and externally to enquirers - preparing and packaging a wide range of materials, and arranging postage
  • assisting with market research activities - data entry and analysis, compiling reports
  • producing course information leaflets and managing other publications in terms of regular updates, and stock control
  • assisting the team with conversion activities, both from enquirer to applicant and from applicant to enrolled student
  • administrative support to the whole MSR team, including occasional financial reporting

This post may involve the occasional request to work outwith normal working hours and travel to other SRUC campuses (for team meetings for example).

Applicants should be educated to a good, general standard and have demonstrable experience of working within a varied administrative role and competently carrying out a range of administrative duties. Experience of providing an effective service to customers and other internal and external stakeholders is also essential as is good knowledge of IT software, particularly Microsoft Office. Some knowledge of FE and/or HE in Scotland would be advantageous.
