Intermediate Mechanical Engineer

An established London consultancy is seeking an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer

Your new role

• You will be supporting senior staff and preparing high quality information including technical specifications, designs, drawings, equipment schedules, survey reports for projects from inception to completion
• Checking tender submissions, drawings and technical submittals to ensure quality of products and equipment are in accordance with design
• Undertaking site visits and monitoring progress against the design with minimal supervision
• Monitoring workload against deliverables
• Assisting with planning work schedules to meet project programmes
• Undertaking all RIBA stages from inception through to in-use, including novation to the contractor in some instances
• Building relationships and contacts with potential sources of new work, maintaining existing relationships
• Assisting with the delivery of presentations and pitches occasionally
• Attending and participating in internal CPDs

What you'll need to succeed

• a BEng/equal or demonstrable practical experience
• an understanding of
  • BSRIA BG6 and RIBA stages
  • Part L
  • the CDM Regulations
  • BREEAM and renewable technologies
• full knowledge of the CIBSE Guides
• a reasonable understanding of other MEP engineering disciplines, other than your own, sufficient to understand their impact in the overall design, and converse at a reasonable level
• experience in condition surveys/report writing including pre-acquisition, vendor, dilapidations, etc
• a flair for working on smaller and quick turnaround projects and the ability to work on several projects simultaneously
• proficiency and experience in the use of:
  • Word
  • PowerPoint
  • Excel
  • Hevacomp or IES
  • Outlook
  • AutoCAD
  • Revit (all engineers are currently training on Revit)

What you'll get in return
You will receive a salary of GBP35,000 to GBP45,000 plus package with continued career growth.
