Market Reporter/Senior Reporter - NPKs fertilizer

About Argus

Argus is an independent media organisation with almost 1100 staff globally. We are headquartered in London and have 26 offices in the world s principal commodity trading and production centres. Argus produces price assessments and analysis of international energy and other commodity markets and offers bespoke consulting services and industry-leading conferences.

What will you be doing?

You will initially focus on the global NPKs fertilizer market; a market which continues to grow and account for a larger share of global fertilizer sales. You will cover market-moving daily news, key policy developments, deals and tenders, as well as providing well-researched market analysis and accurate price assessments, which will contribute to the only weekly NPKs price report that is currently available in the market.

You will apply and develop your skills across weekly news reporting, market analysis, features and editorials in this fast-paced environment with the highest standards of journalistic independence and integrity. There are many opportunities to travel and present papers at industry conferences, host roundtables and lead webinar sessions. Argus runs numerous fertilizer conferences and the right candidate is positively encouraged to present and become an industry expert.

As part of a small team you will help with weekly price assessments in the international market and write daily market commentaries and news as well as contribute to the weekly NPKs report. Being part of a small team also means there will be cross-training and plenty of opportunity to gain experience of other fertilizer markets, along with the opportunity to learn from our experienced Reporters/Editors - the Argus editorial team has expanded from a core nucleus of highly experienced editors following the acquisition of FMB in 2011 which already boasted over 30 years of industry expertise and an unrivalled reputation for accurate market reporting and analysis.

•A graduate with a strong degree

•Proven ability to develop, source and write industry-relevant news to deadline is preferred

•Knowledge of the fertilizer/agricultural sectors useful but not essential

•Excellent written, grammatical and numeracy skills (these will be tested as part of the interview process), and ability to write engaging content

•Excellent communication skills with ability to network and build contacts with industry executives

•Prior experience of working in the financial or energy journalism sector is useful but not essential

•Additional languages useful but not essential (ideally French)

What s in it for you:

Competitive salary and company bonus scheme
Group pension scheme
Group healthcare and life assurance scheme
25 days holiday with annual increase up to 30 days
Subsidised gym membership
Season ticket travel loans
Cycle to work scheme

•Extensive internal and external training
