JOB DESCRIPTION

Early Years Practitioners are specialists who look after the social, emotional and educational development of babies and young children up to the age of five years old.

Our Early Years Educators guide, observe, stimulate and supervise children in a safe and caring environment. They also act, if required, as a key worker to specified children.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIRED

Levels 5 -8 (or equivalent DCYA Approved Certification)

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

1. Knowledge of child development

2. Safeguarding

3. Health and safety

4. Wellbeing

5. Communication

6. Support the planning of and deliver activities, purposeful play opportunities and educational programmes

7. Classroom: daily, weekly, and monthly paperwork

8. Individual child observations, developmental checks and group class observations

9. Hygiene of class environment to be kept to high standard

10. Documenting children s emerging interests.

This list is not exhaustive and additional tasks may be required from time to time.
