Our client who is in a Top 30 UK accountancy firms is looking for an Audit Manager to join their corporate team. The Corporate team predominately undertakes audit and other assurance work on behalf of their clients; however, they are also responsible for accounts preparation and tax computations too.

In their Bishop's Stortford based corporate team, you will get exposure to an eclectic range of organisations, including medium sized owner managed companies, academy schools, charities and service charges.

Our client is open to this being a remote based role, but you will be expected to travel to clients or the office when necessary (ideally Bishop's Stortford).

The role for Audit Manager:

As a Corporate Manager you will have ownership of the following tasks:

• Controlling own portfolio of clients, to include workforce planning, management of WIP and billing

• Delegating audit and accounts tasks, plus some tax compliance work, to the team and reviewing completed files ready for final review by the RI

• Providing feedback to junior and senior team members of the team on the quality of their work and performance

• Building and further developing relationships with existing and new clients

• Undertaking business development activities, such as attending networking events and Price Bailey marketing events

• Meeting clients to pitch and tender for new work and putting together associated documents

• Supporting team with wider responsibilities e.g. interviewing, marketing

The person:

You might not have all of the experience below, but if you meet the minimum criteria and are passionate about developing yourself, we'd love to hear from you:

• A professional accounting qualification - ACA, ICAS, CA or ACCA (minimum criteria)

• Experience of managing a portfolio of clients (minimum criteria)

• People management experience

• Experience working with academy schools and / or charities would be beneficial but not essential

• Strong time management skills and the ability to multitask

• Commercial and proactive approach to client development

• Experience of audit software (client uses Caseware) and Microsoft packages
