Our Specialist Electrical and Control Engineers help Britain's most diverse - and essential - industries work safely. In this frontline role you can influence not only individual employers but whole industry sectors.

This is a frontline specialist engineering post. You will need to apply your experience and knowledge to identify risk and underlying issues on site (often from first principles) make effective decisions on the adequacy of existing control measures and persuade and influence people at all levels to achieve compliance with the law.

We are looking for high calibre engineers who can, under challenge, think strategically, identify underlying core issues, and engage at different levels both with colleagues, site technical staff and at the most senior levels within an organisation. You will be able to influence those organisations to bring about improvements and be decisive and clear about what is needed.

From day one, you will be supported by your manager and colleagues to understand your role in HSE, develop your skills and support you in your continuing professional development. For the legal requirements of the role, you will be enrolled on the Specialist Training Programme (STP) and will be required to study for and successfully complete the Unit. You will receive appropriate training and complete a legal assessment.

You will have:

• Practical experience of having worked in the field of electrical and control system engineering (preferably in a senior role) and have a detailed knowledge in relevant areas which may include but not be limited to:

• Distribution and use of electricity at both high and low voltage, including safe systems of work.

• Electrical, electronic, programmable (such as PLCs) and safety-related control systems as applied to process control equipment and machinery including risk assessment, design, installation, testing, maintenance and modification.

An Honours degree in Electrical/Control Engineering or closely related subject

*Memberships*

Chartered by the IET or have the necessary qualifications, skills and experience to become chartered by the IET (Or other chartered Professional Body)
