One of our clients, a leading global logistics provider are looking to increase their headcount as they continue to grow, and as a result our client is looking for an experienced Logistics Manager.
JOB ROLE
Responsible for the overall operation and management, to include people management, maintaining and exceeding customer service levels as well as the achievement of financial targets, all whilst managing risk.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Communicate with customers and suppliers to ensure service levels are maintained.
Meet with new and prospective customers to offer advice and support.
Work with marketing to look at new business opportunities and apply strategies.
Ensure office and warehouse systems run smoothly and are up to date and compliant.
Work with customs & compliance manager(s) to minimise all risks.
Work with finance to ensure all targets are met.
Ensure all SOP and KPI's are up to date and met.
General day to day running of the office, operations, warehouse & site.
Ensure Budget target revenues are achieved or exceeded and costs are at/lower than Budget.
In addition, the post holder will be expected to:
Provide clear and measurable personal objectives in line with business strategy and monitor the progress of achievement against agreed objectives through the use of performance framework including bi-annual appraisals.
Be involved in the recruitment and selection process when recruiting new employees for the team when required.
Facilitate regular team meetings to enhance motivation and discuss relevant operational issues.
Deal with all employee relations issues such as performance management.
Undertake reasonable requests from managers in line with the range and scope of the post.
REQUIREMENTS
5-10 years' experience in warehousing/Customs warehousing, fulfilment and storage
Ability to drive and motivate a team.
Good understanding of operational systems.
Good interpersonal communication skills including the ability to work within a team and interact across the Group.
A logical approach to problem solving.
Ability to develop and build relationships both internally and externally.
Strong customer focused attributes.
The ability to understand business and customer requirements and find solutions to these.
Good general IT skills and understanding and a good knowledge of MS Office.
Ability to work under pressure and to tight timescales.
Able to work independently, using own initiative, remotely and outside of normal office hours.
An ability to learn new skills rapidly.
To be able to be flexible when required and work within a changing environment
