Salary: GBP9.65-GBP10.85ph (Linked to competency and qualifications)
Hours: Part-Time - 20 or 28 hours per week
We are recruiting for Living and Learning Assistants to provide support for young adults with profound and multiple needs including autism, challenging behaviours, communication difficulties and complex health needs. Each young person you would be supporting as a Living and Learning Assistant has a personalised learning programme which supports their own journey towards independence, promoting life skills development via meaningful and fun experiences.
Each week as a Living and Learning Assistant you would support the young people will go out shopping, horse riding, and music therapy, pet therapy, swimming, Yoga and so much more. They are also encouraged to do all of their own cooking, cleaning and washing, so the Learning Assistant will guide and support our young people in these tasks.
Main Tasks of the Living and Learning Assistant
To take responsibility for the care of resident s clothes, bedrooms, personal belongings and ensure that all their medical needs are met, including the administering and recording of prescribed medication.
To provide our young people with support carrying out their daily tasks and activities
Empowering the young people to be independent and to try new things, especially things they really want to do
As a Living and Learning Assistant you would encourage our young people to be active in the local community
The role may require participation in physical intervention and personal care routines.
