LSA's are required for specialist schools across Gloucestershire for short and long term contract to start immediately.
Responsibilities include:
Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all students.
Establish constructive relationships with students and interact with them according to individual needs.
Set challenging and demanding expectations and promote self esteem and independence.
Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education/Behaviour Support Plans, and/or Communication, Sensory and other programmes.
Encourage students to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher.
Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement under the guidance of the teacher.
Person Specification:
Working with or caring for children and young people in the 5-16 age range.
Working with or caring for young people with a range of special educational needs
Good numeracy and literacy skills,
TEAM Teach training (desirable).
Ability to relate well to children and adults.
Work constructively as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities and your own position within these
Ability to work with own initiative without supervision.
Effective use of ICT to support learning and communication.
