This role will lead all aspects of driving improvements to our novel proprietary DNA synthesis method, which will have a profound impact across multiple applications including synthetic biology, biopharmaceuticals, nanotechnology and data storage. The Details... This exciting and challenging role strives to accelerate the advancement of new DNA synthesis method. The successful Scientist will be involved in proposing, evaluating and innovating DNA synthesis technology by independently driving the molecular biology research and will be playing an integral part in the definition and execution of strategic research objectives.

The role will involve:

- Advise the group and accelerate the DNA synthesis research by proposing and developing innovative molecular biology approaches - Design, assess and optimise biochemical protocols relevant to DNA synthesis research - Perform lab-based work where needed and coordinate lab-based scientist on specific projects - Communicate comfortably and effectively with internal and external collaborators - Work alongside group within the company to secure intellectual property; patents, trade secrets - Prepare scientific reports to a high standard for internal and external consumption - Maintain up to date knowledge of the field and communicate significant updates to group and collaborators - Assist in recruitment & selection process for candidates within the team or subject matter - Ensure any work being undertaken, either by themselves or by others they are leading, meets company H&S requirements - Any other duties as might be required within the remit and responsibilities of the post What We're Looking For...
