Fundraising and Partnerships Manager
Our vision is a world with no new HIV infections, where people make empowered sexual health choices, and where those living with HIV do so with dignity, good health and equality.
We are looking for a fundraiser with experience in the international development sector to help us increase our income and partnerships so we can ensure people have the information and knowledge they need on HIV and sexual health.
Avert has been a charity at the forefront of the HIV response since 1986. By sharing knowledge, we empower people to protect themselves and others from infection, reduce stigma and improve HIV and sexual health programmes globally. In 2021 Avert reached over 20 million people through our communication projects that include our global education website site, our social media channels and campaigns and our targeted apps such as Boost. To see more detail on all our work visit our website.
With excellent relationship building, proposal writing and networking skills, the right candidate will enjoy working for a small organisation that gives opportunities for growth, flexibility and development. You will have previously supported six figure income targets and have a proven track record of building and managing funding and partnership relationships.
As Fundraising and Partnerships Manager you will:
Be an experienced proposal writer, with excellent writing, editing and budget development skills and a good eye for detail, with the ability to match project concepts to funders strategies.
Be a confident networker - with a good skill for taking the impact and change stories from Avert s work to a funder audience and helping them make the link between their strategy and Avert s.
Be a detail-orientated researcher, with a good ability to carry out prospect research and skills in seeking out opportunities for funder engagement and pursuit.
We offer a great working environment where you can either work from home or in the seaside city of Brighton and Hove, a friendly team atmosphere, learning and development opportunities and attractive benefits.
Salary: circa GBP38,500 (depending on skills and experience), attractive benefits and employer contribution pension available.
Hours of work: 35 hours per week - 5 days. A flexible working policy is in place and we would be happy to discuss a pro-rated 4 day week.
Location: UK flexible or at Avert s office - based in central Hove, close to the train station. If home-based monthly travel to Avert s office will be expected.
Contract: Permanent.
Please download the attached job description and person specification PDF for full details of the role.
Applications for this role should be made by emailing a CV and cover letter addressing the criteria in the person specification.
Closing date: Sunday 24th July. The indicative date for interviews is Friday 5th August. First stage interviews will be held via video conferencing.
We encourage applications from people living with HIV or those who have been affected by HIV.
Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.
