Java Developer Mid Level (Manc/Belfast)

Our Challenge

One of Synechron's most recognisable clients are in search of a number of experienced mid-level Java Developers with Financial and Investment Banking experience.

We have strong, long-standing relationships with a number of Investment Banks and Financial Institutions and pride ourselves on delivering a best-in-class service which is underpinned by the personnel that we provide to them.

The Java Developers will be working within Core Capital Markets (Mainly in the area of Rates; this is a very popular area and you need not have previous financial/banking experience. You will work with our client who're prevalent in 98 countries across the globe in an established Microservices/Agile setting.

* It is imperative that Java Developer applicants are competent coders with the ability to write multi[1]threaded code.*

Can you work Remotely?

The Java Developer will work for Synechron, but we'd situate you on-site for one of Synechron's major clients, this first project would be in Manchester. This will be on a hybrid remote/office-based model, with the split leaning towards being more remote (depending on client necessity). This engagement is in the central business district of Manchester. You should initially expect to be in the offices between 2-3 days per week with the remaining days being remote.

You Are:

• Mid-range Java Developer (minimum 5 years) with experience in Multithreading
• Have a strong understanding of the software development craft, with focus on prem and cloud based event driven solutions and architectures.
• Exposure to frameworks such as Spring Boot and Spring.
• Knowledge and experience of SQL
• A strong team player who is able to work in a collaborative way across business units, teams and regions
• Hands-on experience of agile software development practices and methodologies, especially scrum

Interview Process:

We like to keep it simple. The first stage will be a video call with one of Synechron's SMEs (c30-40 mins)

Should the above go well, we will present you to the client and they'll want to have another 60-minute video call that will likely involve some screen sharing of code.
