SEA have an exciting new vacancy for an experienced Systems Architect / Systems Engineer to join our growing Integrated Maritime Systems Team. You will get to work on the development of Naval Communication Systems and networks, that are used on war ships and submarines.

An experienced Systems Architect, you will specialise in communication systems, high level design, requirements management and be the link between our business and technical functions. You will be the 'Design Authority' for this area, so as well as using your technical expertise to support bids and proposals, you will also be advising customers on technical issues and providing solutions.

What you will be doing:

Our Systems Architect will get to work on a variety of projects as part of a dedicated team of multi-disciplined specialists. You will work closely with systems engineers, hardware engineers, software engineers and project managers, on communications systems for the Royal Navy and a growing international customer base. You will be doing things like:

- As the Design Authority you will be the interface between the business and the technical functions, responsible for supporting the development of current and future products within the IMS area of the Division.
- Provide technical support & guidance for the early stages of product proposal for customers and provide support to bids for the growth of existing contracts and winning new business.
- Provide technical support to the planning of Verification & Validation activities including requirements development / decomposition and acceptance
- Carry out systems engineering activities on projects, with a major emphasis on requirements capture, architecture design, design-proving and process definition

What we are looking for:

- You will be an Analytical Systems thinker, able to develop and communicate new concepts and architectures
- Experience and good working knowledge of interface design and testing e.g. serial, analogue, RF, IP
- Competency in the use of systems engineering software tools appropriate to projects. A working knowledge of a requirement tool such as Enterprise Architect, Visio or DOORS is desirable.
- Experience of developing complex systems, ideally in defence.
- Knowledge of Naval Communications System integration would be highly beneficial
- Able to pass SC level clearance
