The vacancy
Are you an AAT level 4 or above qualified accountant with a desire to develop your accounting skills within a large housing association? If you are looking for a role which will enable you to learn a breadth of accounting skills or add value with your own, then this may be the new opportunity for you.
This primarily home-based role will enable you to be part of a team of four management accountants reporting to the Lead Accountants. Collaborating with them, you will directly support an organisation committed to improving the lives of our clients customers by providing a financial service that meets the business needs of the company, including its associated subsidiaries.
The Group Finance team supports them in providing an efficient and effective financial service to their internal and external customers. They use Microsoft Dynamics as their core accounting system, full training on this will be given. Tasks include preparation of the management accounts, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting with stakeholders, and preparation of VAT and CIS returns. You will also be an integral part of the year-end process, producing the company and subsidiary financial statements and working papers, and liaising with their external auditors.
You’ll need to demonstrate excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work to deadlines. As part of this role, you’ll be required to form strong working relationships across the Accounting and Financial Reporting team, and with others inside and outside of the Group Finance team, to achieve personal and team objectives. This varied role will enable you to gain experience within a large and complex organisation and will also enable you to gain experience in a busy finance team, using a wide range of finance systems.
To be successful in this role, you will hold an AAT Level 4 qualification as a minimum, possess strong communication skills, demonstrate professional scepticism and work in a structured manner.
