ServiceNow Developer and System Administrator
Are you an experienced administrator with some developer knowledge looking to Grow with Gatwick?
We have a great opportunity for someone to join us and use their skills and creative freedom to design and rebuild our customer self service portal to meet our business requirements as one of the key focus points, enhancing our ServiceNow platform to improve efficiencies and drive automation.
The new IT organisation has been designed to reflect our key priorities as we support the business to grow. Stable Operations, Asset Refresh and Cyber security will remain as core priorities, but in addition there's a focus on exploiting powerful digital platforms to deliver enhanced productivity, accurate data, and more effective customer engagement.
What is the role?
The ServiceNow developer will maintain the Service Now Management platform to support internal users and stakeholders working closely with team members, stakeholders and end users to provide application support, user administration, business analysis, system development and delivery. There is a high focus on developing and improving our key areas of Request Fulfilment, Incident, Change, Asset and Problem Management.
In this role you will have the opportunity to further develop your knowledge and expertise to help drive continual service improvement, identifying gaps and offering solutions to get the best out of yourself and ServiceNow.
This is a hybrid role with the ability to work on site and remotely.
What will you do?
- Development of enhancements across the platform with specific emphasis on solution design, usability and ongoing support, driving continuous improvement and value from the ServiceNow platform
- You will be responsible for regular patching, hot fixes and version upgrades in line with product roadmap
- Act as the primary support contact, providing triage and identification of issues affecting the platform operation to resolve incidents
- Fulfilment of ServiceNow related requests including user, group, company administration and SLA configuration
- Provision of support, administration, and development of the ServiceNow environment
- Carry out a data-cleanse exercise to de-commission any knowledge articles no longer relevant
- Focus on customer self-service portal redesign, improving the customer experience to encourage users to log incidents and requests via the portal directly
- Help enhance and deliver the mobile app version so engineers can do on their phones (target is change approvals, and ticket updates on the go)
Do you have what we're looking for?
- Functional knowledge and experience with IT Service Management (ITSM) processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Release, SLM, Service Catalogue, Configuration Management Database (CMDB), Asset, Knowledge Management).
- Experience of delivering end-user training and producing/maintaining training documentation
- Be able to demonstrate experience & knowledge of ITIL standards
- Extensive knowledge of JavaScript
- Familiarity with SQL, HTML and CSS
- Knowledge of XML and structuring programming concepts
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with both technical and non-technical staff
- Strong problem solving skills (tenacity) and a willingness to learn/share knowledge with colleagues
- Be open to helping integrate ServiceNow with other platforms
- Ability to stay calm under pressure
- Ideally qualified as a ServiceNow Administrator, with experience of ServiceNow administration, development, integration and support
- ITIL foundation V3/4 certificate desirable but not essential
