Manufacturing Engineer - CNC - Engineering
Job purpose
Responsible for setting up and supporting tasks using appropriate work requests and reporting results.

POSITION OVERVIEW
Responsible for setting up and supporting tasks using appropriate work requests and reporting results. See Department Organisation chart for details of reporting structure.
ROLES
To adhere to BorgWarner beliefs, policies, standards and procedures including safety, quality, environment.
To follow department work request
To provide clear status on task progress and workload
To participate in team meetings as applicable
RESPONSIBILITIES (Functional)
To carry out engineering tasks using CNC and manually operated machines and hand tools.
To use a variety of measuring equipment.
To conduct front line maintenance and basic fault diagnosis within the limits of training on equipment used.
Designing and manufacturing of fabricated components using Gas, MIG, TIG, Plasma cutting sheet cutter and bending equipment
Stripping, rebuilding and modifying prototype diesel engines
Fitting various fuel injection equipment to engine, including, pumps, injectors, low pressure fuel systems and high-pressure common rail systems.
What we're looking for
SKILLS
Mandatory
Ability to understand engineering drawings and specifications.
Ability to understand GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing)
Ability to utilise a variety of manufacturing and assembly techniques.
Ability to use a variety of measuring techniques and types of equipment. Desirable
Familiar with use of CAD models/Solid Works or similar.
Good IT skills eg Microsoft Office
Ability to use and program CNC machining centres.
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE
Mandatory
Apprenticeship or experience in an Engineering related discipline; Mechanical, software, electronics, etc.
Educated to B Tec Level 3/NVQ Level 3, HNC or other Engineering qualification
A good understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes.
Ability to work on your own initiative with minimum supervision
A high degree of motivation to achieve company aims
Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate at all levels
Desirable
GibbsCAM CAD/CAM software or similar PC-based computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) system for programming computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools.
Experienced in the manufacture to high precision tolerances.
Data collection to qualify products/components as part of a quality system.
