Payroll Assistant

A vital Payroll Coordinator position is now available with Blackburn with Darwen Council. This role is available immediately on an initial 6-month temporary contract.

What is the role?

Blackburn with Darwen Council are now looking to appoint an experience Payroll Coordinator to join their friendly Payroll, Pension and Systems team.

As well as conducting end to end payroll processing, you will have the opportunity to widen your payroll knowledge through working alongside the Council's pensions team and Self-Serve Employee and Manager system.

How will you do this?

• Undertake end to end processing of payrolls, including contractual and auto-enrolment pension duties.

• Processing expenses, mileage claims, and other time and attendance related payments.

• Audit all inputs to the HR Payroll and Pension system which impacts on pay to ensure correct payments are made.

What background do you need?

• Experience of running payroll and pension processes from start to end.

• Knowledge of PAYE, NI, SSP, SMP and SPP as well as benefit scheme implementation.
