INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER (NETWORKS) - PERM - GBP39,183 to GBP45,873
Loriens client has a new requirement for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer for Networks.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing a team of network specialists and is expected to deliver specialist 3rd line support for all core network infrastructure platforms, including supporting the implementation and design of new solutions and monitoring of overall system performance.
- Provide specialist technical skills and knowledge to support the availability and performance of core network infrastructure application delivery platforms, including performance of data centres, data storage services, servers and back-ups;
- Ensures the security and integrity of underlying infrastructure;
- Apply best practice approaches to network infrastructure management, using technologies such as Cisco ISE to ensure that performance is monitored and governed effectively;
- Provide specialist technical knowledge that facilitate the relevant incident, configuration, availability, capacity, continuity and release management in line with agreed procedures;
- Provide and disseminate specialist/technical advice on issues relating to the service, interpreting or assessing needs and exercising judgment to make decisions when solutions are not obvious;
- Assist the IT Partner (Networks & Devices) in formulating strategic direction for the team;
- Act as a point of escalation for complex technical issues arising through the helpdesk, facilitating timely resolution;
- Monitor and manage service levels and performance standards for the team;
- Have regular contact with various key stakeholders in order to achieve desirable outcomes;
- To provide reports and business cases in support of making recommendations for improvements or amendments to systems within the team;
- Plan and organise individual or team activity to meet the demands on the infrastructure workload;
Essential
- Post graduate degree or equivalent experience
- Cisco CCNP certified
- At least 3 years working in a 3rd line network engineer role
