About The Team

Our Business Restructuring Services (BRS) practice is part of PwC Deals and is the largest restructuring practice in the UK. We operate from 23 UK offices and offer restructuring skills with industry experience and functional expertise (e.g., procurement & supply chain, business planning, cost reduction, cash and change management) to our clients, helping them develop sustainable solutions.

We are the UK market leader in respect of the work we do across the public sector - as a firm and a Government & Health Industries (G&HI) Operational Restructuring practice.

We have a particular focus on health, particularly the UK NHS. We also work with private and non-UK health organisations and our work continues to grow in other sectors including the MoD, central government, education, and not-for-profit.

We are looking for motivated and ambitious procurement & supply chain people to join our team. Our work blends hands-on delivery skills, with functional procurement, supply chain and industry expertise. Roles are based in London, Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff or Reading.

About the role

You will work with high profile NHS and public sector clients to solve important procurement & supply chain problems in a highly rewarding and supportive environment.

You will lead teams and work hands-on with our clients to develop solutions and make recommendations to senior client staff and lead delivery of cost based transformations to create sustainable performance improvements in procurement & supply chain.

You will work on a range of activities including

  • Helping clients reduce supply chain costs, optimise supply resilience and reduce GHG emissions

  • Improving the effectiveness of procurement/supply chain operations

  • Designing and implementing sustainable solutions based on best practice Category Management, Strategic Sourcing, Purchase to Pay and Supplier Risk & Relationship Management and Supply Chain ESG

  • Using our innovative digital solutions to sustainably solve client problems such as accelerating their journeys to Net Zero and identifying supply chain vulnerabilities

  • Opportunities to work across all direct and indirect categories of spend including, Technology, Facilities, Marketing, Labour, Travel and Medical

  • Leading projects and people across multiple regions, business lines and functions

  • Helping partners and directors with business development activities

In the short-medium term, we also anticipate that you will have the opportunity to support our clients recover from the pandemic.

As a Senior Manager you will be integral to driving project delivery and providing insightful solutions for our clients.

You will oversee the successful delivery of projects, which can include multiple projects at a time, and be a key day to day contact with client teams. You will have responsibility for coaching and overseeing the work of project team members and take the lead on managing risk, budgets and compliance on client engagements.

Our hybrid ways of working offer flexibility to our working arrangements. As changes have been made to the firm and national policies with the lifting of restrictions, it is anticipated that our working practices will continue to evolve and we will return to closer working with our clients.

Essential skills and experience

  • Strong interest or experience in the operation and improvement of supply systems

  • Previous experience of procurement, supply chain or operating on cost reduction programmes in the NHS or public sector

  • Strong interpersonal skills and comfortable communicating with all levels

  • Interest in digital technology applied to procurement & supply

  • Project and time management skills;

  • Strong analytical skills including use of Microsoft Excel

  • Previous experience of leading teams and delivering projects through to completion including experience of coaching junior team members

  • Report writing skills including use of Microsoft PowerPoint

  • Excellent verbal and written English

  • Strong commercial awareness and a willingness to participate in marketing and business development

  • Flexibility to work on diverse projects.

Our team provides organisations with pragmatic solutions for operational restructuring and resource management for a swift recovery and sustained future success. You ll work on performing short term cash flow reviews, advising on capital management, and assisting with stakeholder negotiations and restructuring methodologies.
