Job Title - Service EngineerSalary - GBP35k per annum plus x1.5 & x2.0 overtime after 37.5 hours (OTE GBP45k+)Location - Candidate must be based in Oxfordshire, Covering UK wideBenefits - VW Caddy Van, Laptop, Phone, Fuel Card and Expenses, Pension, 25 days of Holiday + 8 Bank HolidaysTraining - Full Product Training (In House and College Based)The BusinessOur Client is one of the World's largest manufacturers of industrial hydraulic systems used within Manufacturing, Power Generation, Agriculture and Construction, Waste and Recycling, and Renewables. The business has offices and manufacturing sites across every continent in the world.The business provide full integrated hydraulic systems, plus spares, fault find and repair, general servicing and full overhaul. They also have a hire fleet of oil purification systems that clients can use to service their hydraulic fluids rather than having the expense of replacing all the fluids.The RoleThe Service Engineer will required to attend Client's sites to perform routine service and overhaul of hydraulic systems, plus attend breakdowns as and when required. 80% of the work is planned service work where the Service Engineer will be required to be on site for up to a week at a time meaning there would be frequent occurrences where the Engineer will need to stay away during the week.Hands on the work is 90% mechanical, using hand and power tools to strip down and rebuild hydraulic systems. The Service Engineer will also be required to do basic electrical fault finding with a Multimeter in control panels, 3 phase motors and control circuits. There would be no wiring required as the Engineers would only change electrical components like for like.Overtime is on a first come basis and is not mandatory, so Weekend and Evening work is not required unless the overtime is specifically requested by the Service Engineer.The business have a fantastic training facility and links with a local college to provide specific product training. To start with all new Engineers would start in the workshop learning the wide variety of products and systems they produce, how to strip down and rebuild the various systems, plus fault finding and repair. Once trained there would be a gradual shift from workshop to field, with the Service Engineers eventually being 100% field based once competent.The CandidateTo be successful in your application you will require the following experience:
- Recognised Mechanical or Hydraulic Qualification
- At least 1 year of experience working on Hydraulic Systems
- Have a full UK Driving License
- Be willing to stay away for up to 4 nights a week when required
- Have excellent customer facing and communication skills
