Fast growing online retailer based in Stockport is seeking a Supply Chain Planner to join their fast growing Purchasing team.

Purpose of the role

Working with several of the companies suppliers and the purchasing lead: forecast, plan and purchase approximately 500 SKUs. You will be responsible for troubleshooting any shortfalls in stock levels to avoid stockouts, following company procedures in your work and ensuring the appearance of the products you purchase is on-brand.

Responsibilities:

Achieve best possible outcomes in product availability for your product portfolio.

Maintain a purchasing plan to forecast and troubleshoot stock levels for the next 6 months.

Co-ordinate with your suppliers to implement the purchasing plan.

Ensure that actions to avoid stockouts are performed within SLA and outstanding issues are escalated to the purchasing lead.

Ensure that your products meet the companies artwork KPI and that artwork is on brand.

Use resources efficiently when planning stock levels.

Recommend cost-effective emergency actions to avoid stockouts.

Monitor the product specification, making specification recommendations and reporting issues to the purchasing lead.

Coordinate with the local warehouse, internal stakeholders and 3PL regarding deliveries, stock movements and changes by your suppliers that impact them.

Attend meetings with your suppliers and play an active role in meetings.

Highlight any opportunities proposed by suppliers/vendors to the purchasing lead.

Ensure that your product portfolio is available to buy on the website.

Perform additional duties peripheral to purchasing such as: arranging freight, ordering artwork or ordering website content.

Comply with all relevant purchasing/product legislation and company policies.

From time to time: perform ad-hoc tasks / cover for any function performed by the Purchasing department.

The role will offer both flexitime and hybrid working once intial induction and training period are complete.

We are happy to consider those with commercial experince, however graduates with relevant degrees (scientific, technology, numerical, logistics etc) and skills will also be considered. Previous experience working with ERP, WMS and CRM systems would be a distinct advantage.
