Landmarc Support Services are looking to recruit an IT Software Development Manager to develop and support new and existing applications, owning the technical direction for software delivery in Landmarc.

As the IT Software Development Manager, you will manage the IT Application Development Team and take an active role within the IT Management Team and the delivery of the IT Department Strategy.

Primary Duties:

To be responsible for coordinating and motivating the Application Development team. Act as the first point of contact for task allocation and managing performance.

Deliver the learning and development plans for the Application Development Team to keep their skill set current and relevant.

Responsible for the creation and updating of all IT Development process and deliver the vision for the technical direction of the team.

Work closely with the Head of IT and the IT Project Office Manager to ensure development team resources are assigned to priority projects from the portfolio.

Take an active role in the IT Management Team, develop and maintain IT Processes, best practice and documentation, implementing IT policy and providing direction within your area of competency

Ensure that there is a consistent and unified approach to IT development and service delivery.

Ensure that changes to new and existing applications are designed, developed and tested in line with the IT Development Process and the IT Project Management Process

Responsible for ensuring that that all software changes are implemented seamlessly iinto the live environment after test acceptance.

Responsible for ensuring the development team are resourced to support and maintain all live IT Services, providing 2nd line support to users following IT Service Desk Processes

What you know:

In addition to management experience, the successful candidate will be educated to degree level (or equivalent qualification or experience) in IT/Computing subject.

ITIL V3 Foundation

ITIL V3 capability certification (Desirable)

Previous experience as a software developer including:

Effective knowledge and experience of Microsoft programming languages

Effective knowledge and experience of SQL Server databases

Effective knowledge and experience of Microsoft Visual Studio Team Foundation / Microsoft DevOps for source control/release and application lifecycle management.

Effective knowledge and experience of Microsoft Sharepoint

Effective knowledge and experience of Microsoft Business Intelligence stack and data warehousing concepts (Desirable)

Effective knowledge and experience of person to person workflow, especially Sequence Kinetics (Desirable)

Effective knowledge and experience of the ESRI ArcGIS toolset (Server and Desktop) (Desirable)

Effective knowledge and experience of IBM Maximo (Desirable)

Effective knowledge and experience of Microsoft Dynamics Nav (Desirable)

Effective knowledge and experience of Microsoft Azure and cloud based services (Desirable)

What you can do:

Experience of managing and motivating a team of software developers

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Proven experience of working within a defined development process (encompassing design, document, develop, test and release) and to development standards

Experience of developing solutions from specifications

Experience of managing small to medium sized projects in accordance with a defined project management process

Experience of working with ITIL processes

Detailed understanding of IT good practice and ability to implement

Experience of providing second-line application support and application maintenance within defined processes

Ability to write technical papers/documents and communicate detail to technical and non-technical stakeholders alike

Prerequisites for employment:

Full driving license valid in the United Kingdom.

Complete Baseline Personnel Security Standard

National Security Vetting may be required however you will be informed of this requirement during completion of the Baseline Personnel Security Standard.

Candidates must meet the UK residency requirements to undergo the above (5 years minimum).
