Academic Library Liaison Officer
Student Support and Engagement
37 hours / 52 weeks per year
Salary: GBP20,318

Responsible to the Student Support Manager, working as part of a dedicated team, you will create a welcoming, positive and proactive experience for all customers visiting College Libraries. Providing a supportive ethos for students at all times, you will demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills and assist students and staff in making full use of the resources, services and learning environment within Library Services. The role involves close liaison with academic staff in a particular school or centre and with cross-college services to develop a responsive and innovative service to meet the learning resource needs of our customers. You will be involved in supporting, guiding and training students and staff in the use of the service resources; have responsibility for administrative tasks to support the efficient running of the service and be integral to ensuring the library is a conducive learning and study environment.
Educated to Level 3, or equivalent with a recognised library qualification, or willingness achieving you will have knowledge of using and exploiting a range of online resources (databases, e-Journals, e-Books, websites and portals). You must also have experience of developing and delivering training sessions, managing students/young people effectively and of helping students and staff with their IT and research skills.
Please note that during term time, hours will be; Monday and Wednesday - (phone number removed)pm,Tuesday and Thursday - (phone number removed)pm, Friday - 8.30-4.30. During student holidays the libraries will be open 9.00 - 5.00pm
