Receptionist Glasgow Full time GBP10 per hour
An exciting position has become available for a part-time Receptionist based in East Kilbride. The candidate will earn up to GBP10 per hour dependent on level of experience + bonus scheme. Hours are Monday-Friday which is rare in the optical sector. Part time or 32-40 hrs will be considered for this role.
This is an interesting and challenging role in a supportive environment which involves greeting clients to the clinics, handling appointments and assisting with a variety of administrative activities.
Role Requirements
Have experience in a similar or related environment eg: Optical, Medical
Have reception/administration skills and training including excellent IT skills.
Integrate well with small teams and make positive contributions to the team effort.
Eager to learn new skills within the optical industry.
Have an ability to work unsupervised for periods of time under time constraints.
Have an ability to work within a progressive company and show eagerness to develop skills.
Be able to respect client confidentiality.
Be able to prioritise, manage workloads and work to deadlines.
Have excellent oral, written skills and numerical skills.
Based within a commutable distance of East Kilbride, driving licence preferable since the store is out with the centre of town.
Role Responsibilities
Diary management.
Liaising with clients to book appointments.
Front of house: meeting, greeting and receiving patients, clients and other visitors to the clinic in a professional manner.
Handling phone enquiries, re-directing calls or taking messages while providing high quality customer service to callers.
Ensuring facility is well prepared to receive clients, such as room standards and replenishing supplies.
Receipt of payments by card and cash.
Administration tasks to support operations.
Representing company in an appropriate manner at all times.
Adhering to hygiene guidelines.
Working with all medical records and information in a confidential manner.

Although small we are a dynamic business who keep up with the ever-changing retail environment to provide the best optical solutions to our customers.
The practice feels its success is due to the personal and friendly service available to all patients due to the smaller size of the practice. We believe in employing very competent Optometrists with adequate test time given to each examination dependent on their needs and we have a great relationship with our returning customers.
We also work with some state-of-the-art equipment to provide the best eye examination ie: optomap widefield retinal scanning, with some speciality clinics to include low vision and dry eye.
All training will be given in house initially but if an employee shows a particular aptitude to learn more, we have other training schemes that can be offered to progress the role to include more optical experience and further development to management roles.
We have a set of operational standard sheets which assists with on the job learning to make quick progression fully achievable.
We also have full Human resource and health and safety support to handle and concerns to include a confidential employee assistance programme for any emotional or financial concerns for the employee.
